Ingredients
1 teaspoon matcha green tea powder (pure ceremonial grade)
¼ cup hot water
¼ cup full-fat coconut milk (from a can)
¾ cup cold water or plant-based milk (for dilution)
1–2 teaspoons maple syrup or honey (optional, for sweetness)
Ice cubes
Instructions
Whisk Matcha: In a small bowl, sift the matcha powder to avoid clumps. Add ¼ cup hot water (not boiling) and whisk in a zigzag motion until smooth and frothy.
Mix Base: In a glass, combine coconut milk and sweetener (if using). Add cold water or plant-based milk to dilute as preferred.
Add Ice: Fill the glass with ice cubes.
Layer Matcha: Slowly pour the whisked matcha over the ice and coconut milk mixture to create a beautiful layered effect.
Serve: Stir gently and enjoy immediately with a straw or spoon.
Notes
Tip 1: Use ceremonial-grade matcha for the smoothest, least bitter taste.
Tip 2: For a café-style sweetness, use vanilla syrup instead of maple syrup.
Tip 3: Shake all ingredients in a jar with ice for a frothy, well-blended latte.
