- 4 slices brioche or thick white bread
- 2 eggs
- ½ cup milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tbsp sugar
- Pinch of salt
- 1 tbsp butter
Instructions
- Make the Custard – Whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla, cinnamon, sugar, and salt until well combined.
- Dip the Bread – Coat each slice in the mixture for about 15 seconds per side.
- Cook – Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat. Cook the bread for 3–4 minutes per side until golden brown.
- Serve – Top with maple syrup, fresh berries, bananas, or powdered sugar.
Notes
- Use day-old bread for the best texture.
- Cook over medium heat to avoid burning.
- Brioche or challah gives the richest flavor.
- Refrigerate up to 3 days or freeze up to 2 months; reheat in a skillet or oven.
