- just 1 and 1/2 teaspoons of baking powder
- 1 1/2 teaspoons of baking soda also known as bi-carb soda
- 2 cups white sugar Note 1
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 eggs ~55-65g / 2 oz each
- 1 cup milk low or full fat
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil or canola
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup boiling water
Step 1: Prep Your Oven and Pans
Step 2: Combine Dry Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, sift together:
1 and 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 tbsp + 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1 1/2 tsp baking soda
2 cups white sugar
1 tsp salt
